Mimosa Hostillis is published by the team behind Avalon Magic Plants, a smartshop in the Netherlands. Avalon sells Mimosa hostilis inner root bark, seeds of the tree and accessories, and the product links on this site go to that shop. When you buy through such a link, we earn from the sale.
We say this first because it matters for how you read the rest. The site exists because questions about this bark are mostly answered by sellers, and rarely with sources: where it comes from, how it is harvested, what the forms mean for quality, what the names on a bag mean and what the law says. We wanted one place that answers them as a supply chain, checkpoint by checkpoint, and says plainly where the evidence stops.
How the information is put together
- Range, botany and forestry data come from Embrapa, the Brazilian flora list, Kew's checklist of plants and peer-reviewed papers. Land-cover figures come from MapBiomas and the Brazilian statistics office IBGE.
- Names are checked against the International Plant Names Index.
- Legal statements come from the legal texts and court records themselves, checked on the date shown on each page. Where we rely on a summary of a judgment, the page says so.
- Where no source exists, as for the commercial root harvest or trade volumes, we say that and do not fill the gap.
- Shop descriptions are quoted as the shop's own words.
- We make no medical or health claims of any kind, and we publish no instructions for extracting, preparing or dosing any substance.
- We publish no invented experiences, testimonials or reviews.
The tracking number, route map and timestamps on this site are a way of presenting the information. The dates are the dates we checked the facts; the route is schematic and does not describe one real shipment.
Who is behind the shop
Avalon Magic Plants is run by AMP Trading B.V. in Helmond, the Netherlands, and sells only to adults. Its mascot is a small cactus; here it looks rather pleased that the parcel arrived.
If something on this site is out of date or wrong, Avalon's customer service can pass it on to us. Start at the origin, or read the legal checkpoint before you order.
